Decisions and actions:
We studied patient management pathways involving the expected final users of the future solution, highlighting bottlenecks and main critical areas to be addressed. We developed Optimizer, a web based solution, designed for the European ophthalmology wards, aimed at optimizing the management of patients with macular degenerations and the collection of clinical data.
Optimizer is a powerful patient management support system, helping more than 25 Hospitals across Europe to better manage patients while continuously reviewing and optimizing resources allocation and Department performance. At the same time Optimizer is a strong support to data science, generating a patient database with all relevant information on the treatment evolution and clinical outcomes.
